Chalice of corruption quest - Is this a bug?..
I did this quest once fine with my assasin so I know what should happen. I took it again with my mesmer. I accepted the quest and chose to drink. I went through the nearest portal from Brother Tosai to the undercity. Unfortunately I think I was meant to click on him once again, So I went back to speak to him again and he told me not to interupt the ritual, so I waited and nothing happened (the green arrow was directed at him all this time) So I figure this is bugged right?
I cant do anything there so I decide to zone back to the marketplace. I abandon the quest then go back; all he says is "Are you here to accept the truth of your own flesh? You can become so much more if you dare drink from the chalice of corruption...." All I can reply is "I'll be on my way" I dont have the quest anymore but I cant take it again. Am I missing something?

same thing with me. It seems that once it's abandoned you can't pick it up again.

I haven't completed this quest yet, but I recommend to everyone that you don't do the quest! I started the quest and talked to Brother Tosai and then he did his ritual thing on me. Once he completed his ritual, he put a -2 health regen spell on me that won't come off until he takes it off! Everywhere I go now, I frickin have this -2 health regen and I have to keep mending on me to cancel it out. The quest says I'm supposed to kill all the afflicted Am Fah in the area and I spent a good half hour killing everything in sight, but I'm not sure how many more I have to kill until the quest goes away. I'm really irritated that I have to run around with this so-called permanent hex until he takes it off of me. Grr...

The quest is bugged, and often won't spawn all the waves. I found out more or less that by accident that if your party gets wiped out by some of the nearby afflicted groups, the next wave will spawn while you're running back there from the shrine.

I finished this quest....after you drink you need to wait.(I had mending on so I didnt even know that it was a -2 health degeneration )
Then in the undercity you need to go and FIND the last few mobs (they get stuck by the level 20 kappas --mesmers)...I finished it after going and finding the last mob that couldnt make it over the bridge. Only died once at the first mob.

Cool, I remember seeing the Kappas, so I'll have to head that way when I play GW again.

If you abandon the quest, the health degeneration will be removed. So if you have no desire or intention to actually go through with completing it, just abandon it and you will be healthy again.

Best Idea, imho:
- Don't drink from the Chalice
- Don't tell Brother Tosai you'll take it to the guards
- Destroy the Chalice
- All Am Fah in the Bazzar should no longer be hostile...
makes the Bazzar quests a lot easier...

Will they go back to being hostile if you abandon the quest?

Here's what I did:
- Did the "Find Brother Tosai" quest
(i think it was at this point that the Am Fah became friendly, so as long as you don't tell Tosai you'll take the chalice to the authorities, they should stay friendly)
- He gives me the Chalice
- Refuse to drink
- Refuse to take it to the authorities
- trash the chalice
- Am Fah remain friendly...

I've done this once with no problems (lucky I guess), and from what I remember you don't get the quest from Tosai, you get asked to infiltrate the Am Fah by someone in Kaineng Center, which takes you to Bujo (?), who asks you to prove yourself, and then he sends you to see Tosai.
Maybe if you abandon the quest you have to go back to the original quest giver, and go through the whole sequence again, or maybe you only have to go back to Bujo.

Seems there are a couple of buggy quests...my wife was doing one on monastary island which gave skills... she mistakely did not equip one of the new skills (shatter hex i think) and could not finish the quest. Abandoned and could not get the quest again, nor did she have the skill...interesting.
FWIW, drank, received some BAD aura, followed, killed 'em all, and received the cure (with henches). Would feed Tosai to the kappas if I could, just for being a pain...lol.

I had a few isolated solo Afflicted Assassins spawn to enable me to finish the quest.

Brothe Tosai Quest
I did this quest w/no probs on my char and helped a guildie do it as well.
What you have to do is drink from the chalice. Then WAIT for Tosai to finish his ritual and put the -2 degen on u. Check your Quests log. It will update and u have to talk to Tosai again when he is done.
Now follow him into the Undercity.
Once he stops, as soon as he comes in your aggro another grp will spawn. So now there will be two mobs. One across the bridge and one further past him that comes to attack you. I would suggest you clear the mob across the bridge before you come in contact with Tosai. After clearing both mobs, just wait. A second mob spawns at the same place. You just have to clear them out. First time I did it I went ahead to clear the whole area. Theres couple of bosses in there. After killin them the quest still didnt finish so I came back to Tosai and a second group was there.
When helping guildie we just waited and the quest was completed after killin the second group.
Hope this helps

That must have happened to the player in the monastery who kept spamming, "Who here has remove hex?" After seeing this ten times, my mesmer finally replied, "I have shatter hex." The player whispered me her problem--she was supposed to remove a hex from someone, but didn't have the skill. I went out with her and removed the hex. That enabled her to complete the quest and get the one for the next mesmer trainer.

I completed this quest last night....
It took me about 35 minutes to defeat all the damn afflicted creatures....60% DP after the idiot NPC went on a random attack pattern and agro'd everything at the battle marker...it took persistance and alot of unheard swearing at my monitor, but it is over. I have all the Am Fah as green now...

One problem may be is that if you are looking to cap a skill from an Am Fah boss and they are all friendly to you, then you cannot cap it since the boss won't show/attack. I had that problem till I had someone give me thier challice, and I was able to drink from it, beat the quest, then went back and capped Quivering Blade.
